چکیده

Abstract Recent work has demonstrated that human body odour alters with changing emotional state and emotionally laden odours can affect the physiology behaviour of people exposed to them. Here we review these discoveries, which believe add a growing recognition sense smell its potential role in social interactions have been underappreciated. However, also critically evaluate current evidence, particular focus on methodology interpretation studies. We argue while evidence convincingly indicates humans retain capacity for olfactory communication emotion, extent this occurs ordinary interaction remains an open question. Future studies should place fewer restrictions participant selection lifestyle adopt more realistic experimental designs. need devote consideration underlying mechanisms recognise constraints may effective communication. Finally, outline some promising approaches address issues, raise broader theoretical questions such help us answer.

Human Emotional Facial Expression Recognition

An automatic Facial Expression Recognition (FER) model with Adaboost face detector, feature selection based on manifold learning and synergetic prototype based classifier has been proposed. Improved feature selection method and proposed classifier can achieve favorable effectiveness to performance FER in reasonable processing time.

Human body odour, symmetry and attractiveness.

Several studies have found body and facial symmetry as well as attractiveness to be human mate choice criteria. These characteristics are presumed to signal developmental stability. Human body odour has been shown to influence female mate choice depending on the immune system, but the question of whether smell could signal general mate quality, as do other cues, was not addressed in previous st...

Odour Regulation in Germany – an improved system including odour intensity, hedonic tone and odour annoyance

For odour regulation in Germany the Guideline on Odour in ambient Air GOAA has been in use for many years. The main parameter the odour regulation authority has to take into account is the odour frequency expressed as odour hours per year. In the Guideline limit values are given for the maximum odour frequency per year. These limit values are based on investigations in the field in which signif...

Individual and gender fingerprints in human body odour.

Individuals are thought to have their own distinctive scent, analogous to a signature or fingerprint. To test this idea, we collected axillary sweat, urine and saliva from 197 adults from a village in the Austrian Alps, taking five sweat samples per subject over 10 weeks using a novel skin sampling device. We analysed samples using stir bar sorptive extraction in connection with thermal desorpt...

Emotional face expression profiles supported by virtual human ontology

Expressive facial animation synthesis of human like characters has had many approaches with good results. MPEG-4 standard has functioned as the basis of many of those approaches. In this paper we would like to lay out the knowledge of some of those approaches inside an ontology in order to support the modeling of emotional facial animation in virtual humans (VH). Inside this ontology we will pr...
